High-performance expression of peptides and proteins
E.coli: For high-performance expression of peptides and proteins in inclusion bodies, titers up to 15 g/L are achieved. This is four-fold higher than the current industrial standard.
Pichia pastoris: For the methylotroph pichia pastoris explosion-proof fermentation plants are in place. The productivity for Fab fragments is in the range of 5g/L.
Hansenula polymorpha yeast strains: Boehringer Ingelheim RCV GmbH & Co KG has access to high-titer hansenula polymorpha yeast strains with titers above 5g/L.
Saccharomyces cerevisiae fermentation technology is established with a productivity of more than 3g/L.
