The Boehringer Ingelheim chemical production plant in Malgrat de Mar focuses in the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates. Our production site in Spain, founded in 1959, is specialised in plant extraction and purification of natural substances.
Profile
Our manufacturing processes are subject to strict safety norms and environmental issues. Production is in accordance with international quality standards - cGMP, ISO. More than 235 people work in Malgrat de Mar on three shifts a day, seven days a week. A well-organised system enables us to immediately respond to enquiries and start production without unnecessary time loss. The high-level qualification of our staff is maintained and enhanced through ongoing training programmes.

Production profile
In addition to the manufacture of our own APIs for captive use, Boehringer Ingelheim España, S.A offers the possibility of contract manufacturing. A wide range of experience in process development, automatisation and optimisation of capacity guarantee the success of projects in a reasonable period of time. Close cooperation with the University of Barcelona and our quality assurance system further strengthen our profile.
