Boehringer Ingelheim FENS Research Award

Prize winner 2008

Dr Pascal Fries from the F.C. Donders Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, is the winner of the Boehringer Ingelheim FENS Research Award 2008.

The award was presented to Dr Fries at the congress of the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) on 12 - 16 July 2008 in Geneva, Switzerland. It was the fourth time that Boehringer Ingelheim sponsored the Boehringer Ingelheim FENS Research Award supporting the advancement of young scientists.

Dr Fries' work in the field of cognitive neurosciences is widely recognised and answers major scientific questions of how perception is organised, how it is influenced by attention, and what are the neural mechanisms that instantiate these functions. Latest scientific results focus on the description and explanation of the neuronal substrate instantiating perception, action and memory.
