Professor Ajay Kakkar
Professor Ajay Kakkar is Professor of Surgical Sciences and Dean for External Relations, Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London, Consultant Surgeon St Bartholomew's and University College London Hospitals, and Director of the Thrombosis Research Institute, London, UK.
His awards include Hunterian Professor, Royal College of Surgeons of England 1996, the David Patey Prize, Surgical Research Society of Great Britain and Ireland 1996, the Knoll William Harvey Prize, International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis 1997 and the James IV Association of Surgeons Fellow 2006.

Professor Sam Schulman
Dr Sam Schulman is a Professor of Medicine at McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada and an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden.
He has been chairman of the ISTH-SSC subcommittee on Control of Anticoagulation since 2004. He is currently director of the Thrombosis Service at Hamilton General Hospital, Ontario, Canada and director of the clinical thromboembolism program in Hamilton.

Professor Jeffrey I. Weitz
Dr Jeff Weitz is a Professor of Medicine and Biochemistry at McMaster University and Director of the Henderson Research Centre. A former Vice-President of Research for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, member of the Board of Directors of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, Chair of the Scientific Review Committee for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, member of the Executive Council on Thrombosis of the American Heart Foundation, and Chair of the Council on Vascular Biology for the American Society of Hematology, Dr Weitz has published over 250 peer-reviewed papers and 35 textbook chapters.
