In 2009, Boehringer Ingelheim continued to grow faster than the pharmaceutical market for the 10th year in a row. Net sales increased to EUR 12.7 bn. Operating income rose to EUR 2.2 bn, the return on net sales improved to 17.6%.

In 2009, Boehringer Ingelheim continued to grow faster than the pharmaceutical market for the 10th year in a row. Net sales increased to EUR 12.7 bn. Operating income rose to EUR 2.2 bn, the return on net sales improved to 17.6%.
Equity ratio increased to almost 40%, EUR 5.4 bn liquidity available. Continued high level of investment in own R&D of EUR 2.2 bn. Market launch of five innovative medicines planned.
