For the treatment of clinical and subclinical mastitis in cattle caused by Gram positive pathogens susceptible to penethamate.

Parenterally administered Mamyzin® crosses the blood milk barrier achieving therapeutic concentrations of penicillin in milk for 24 hours upon injection. The absorption of penethamate is 8 times faster and 10 times higher than that of benzylpenicillin. An injection of Mamyzin® treats all four quarters reducing the workload and eliminating any risk of contamination as a result of administration.

Treatment of clinical mastitis in lactating dairy cows for bacteria susceptible to the combination of cefalexin and kanamycin such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus uberis and Escherichia coli.

For intramammary use.
Treat the infected quarter(s) twice, leaving an interval of 24 hours between treatments. Use the contents of one syringe (containing 200 mg cefalexin as monohydrate and 100,000 I.U. kanamycin as monosulphate) per quarter per treatment. Each syringe is for single use only.

Before infusion, the udder should be milked out completely, the teat should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected and care should be taken to avoid contamination of the injector nozzle.

Butylscopolaminiumbromide and Metamizole sodium (dipyrone).

For the management of abdominal pain associated with equine colic.

Buscopan® Compositum contains butylscopolaminiumbromide, an antispasmodic agent, and dipyrone, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Buscopan® Compositum does not mask the symptoms of surgical colic cases and does not produce paralysis of the gut.

Butylscopolaminiumbromide is a quaternary ammonium derivative of scopolamine. Like other belladonna alkaloid derivatives, this compound antagonises the actions of acetylcholine at the muscarinic receptor and also possesses some activity at nicotinic receptors.

Dipyrone shows anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects. Data indicate that the mechanism of action of dipyrone, like other NSAIDs, is probably associated with an inhibitory effect on prostaglandin synthesis. Furthermore, it antagonises the effects of bradykinin and histamine.

Oral suspension and solution for injection: For use in the alleviation of inflammation and relief of pain in both acute and chronic musculo-skeletal disorders.

Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the oxicam class (COX-2 selective) which acts by inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, thereby exerting anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-exudative and antipyretic effects. It reduces leukocyte infiltration into the inflamed tissue. To a minor extent it also inhibits collagen-induced thrombocyte aggregation.

The honey flavoured oral suspension is highly palatable and is easy to administer over feed or directly into the mouth. The complimentary dispenser syringe allows an accurate and easy dose adjustment.

Metacam® is also available as an aqueous solution for injection.

The different forms of presentations allow the initiation of therapy with an injection followed by the treatment with the oral suspension which can be administered by the horse owner.

The Metacam® oral suspension can be administered with or without food.

The Metacam® solution for injection is administered as a single intravenous injection.

Romifidine

Sedivet® is indicated for use as a sedative to facilitate handling, examination, treatment and as a premedication agent prior to general anaesthesia.

Sedivet® is a synthetic alpha-2 sympathomimetic agent. As with other agents in this class, there is a dose dependent sedation associated with tolerance of pain.
The sedative effect of Sedivet® is induced by a stimulation of presynaptic alpha-2 receptors in the central nervous system. Sedivet possesses a strong affinity for those receptors. Lowering of the head is the first sign of sedation followed by lethargy, reduced sensitivity to environmental stimuli and immobility. Onset of sedation occurs in one to two minutes and lasts 40 to 80 minutes. Induction of anaesthesia may be initiated 8-10 minutes after administration of Sedivet®.

Therefore, in some cases, there will be an initial increase in visible nasal discharges and/or frequency of cough prior to clinical improvement.
