We do not just focus in Boehringer Ingelheim personnel. As we have observed that the accident rate among the large number of employees from outside companies at our plants is distinctly higher than for our own employees, we have focused our attention even more closely than hitherto on the safety of this group of workers. A revised global policy specifies the ground rules for ensuring that these companies endanger neither themselves nor others. Accordingly, even before an order is placed, as well as during its execution, we scrutinise the companies to determine if they can satisfy our requirements for safe working.
We also revised our business process for the qualification of suppliers and third party manufacturers and expressed clear requirements related to EHS and social standards. |
