Culture & Art

The Internationale Tage is a cultural commitment of Boehringer Ingelheim since 1959.

Dr. Patricia Rochard who has been managing the Internationale Tage since 1988 and has worked for the programme since 1975 explains, the International Days do not represent a concept rather than a basic idea of which the owner family is a sponsor and patron who is interested in conveying humanistic and cultural values.

Our engagement with the Internationale Tage in Ingelheim where our Headquarters is located, started way back in 1959 with the very first exhibition with the topic "France". In 2008, the topic will be: Miró – the Alchimist.

Initially, the idea was to provide some perspective of the life and culture of other nations and peoples in the surroundings of an international company: in 1959, the basic idea of being receptive to and learning more about other cultures led Dr Ernst Boehringer, in his capacity as co-owner of the family-owned company Boehringer Ingelheim, to organise a festival of culture.

Throughout almost three decades, the Internationale Tage team was spearheaded by Dr Francois Lachenal (1918-1997).

More information in German and English can be found on the website www.internationale-tage.de.
