Our kind of people

Boehringer Ingelheim people - who are they?

kind people

There’s more to fitting in at Boehringer Ingelheim than qualifications: we look, in many ways, for the same kind of person whether they will be researching innovative therapies, planning marketing, maintaining facilities, or filing accounts. We mean, instead, the mindset and attitude that makes a Boehringer Ingelheim person.

Certainly, we look for ambition. We, after all, have ambitious goals to achieve and it takes a driven person to help us get there. Being passionate about your job – the desire to do it as well as you can, whatever that job may be, is essential. It also takes commitment and reliability – the willingness to keep going towards that ambition because the goal is worth the hard work it takes to succeed.

Equally, though, we look for what’s sometimes called ‘a people person’ – empathy, a willingness to cooperate and collaborate. We are a family-owned company, and a family atmosphere defines the working environment at Boehringer Ingelheim. We listen to each other, support each other, respect each other – and, as a result, we celebrate shared success.

Because of that, we can trust each other. Integrity matters to us –  scientifically, medically, and personally.

That doesn’t mean, though, that we don’t value individuality. Each of us brings something different to the company in terms of talents and perspectives. We strive for diversity in and inclusion in more ways than one; varied viewpoints improve our understanding of our customers and markets, helping us to drive innovation for patients.

And we expect these things at all levels. Our leaders lead by example; we are proud of our leadership development courses because the leaders who emerge from them are not only skilled and effective but fully in tune with these values.

Passion. Integrity. Commitment. Empathy. Individuality.

That’s our kind of people.
