Championing minds for generations both in and out of the workplace

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we are especially proud to announce that Boehringer Ingelheim is now certified for Mental Health America’s (MHA) Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health! The national certification program recognizes employers committed to proactively creating mentally healthy workplaces. According to MHA, 46 percent of Americans will meet the criteria for a diagnosable mental health condition sometime in their life, and half of those people will develop conditions by the age of 14. With these shocking statistics in mind, Boehringer continues to welcome employee feedback about the mental health services and support they need to maintain a supportive and welcoming workplace and allow all employees to thrive.

“At Boehringer Ingelheim, we are always looking for ways to keep moving #LifeForward for both our employees and the communities we serve. Receiving the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health is a testament to our commitment to maintaining an inclusive place to work and breaking down both barriers and stigma for individuals with mental health conditions,” Jamie Eden, Senior Vice President, Human Resources.

It is especially meaningful to receive this award during Mental Health Awareness Month and close to World Schizophrenia Day. In May and beyond, we aspire to transform mental health care by going beyond traditional treatment approaches to alleviate the burden on people living with serious mental illnesses, their care partners, loved ones, and society.  We have an innovative pipeline that aims to ease the burden of a variety of serious mental illnesses.

“We are dedicated to championing every mind and the way mental health conditions are viewed as well as bridging the access gap for all. Receiving this certification is reinforcing our ambition to continue pushing forward this important work” said Christine Sakdalan, Therapeutic Area Head, Mental Health, at Boehringer Ingelheim.

At Boehringer Ingelheim, we have made a long-term commitment to invest in research and an innovative pipeline with the aspiration of redefining mental healthcare to improve outcomes for people living with serious mental illnesses. Learn more about how we’re transforming mental health research.
